With this editorial, we would like to announce a new initiative for JTCM, which will be a new article type called “Perspective”. This article type will provide short peer-reviewed papers aimed at informing the community about new ideas or new interpretations of existing data and/or models. “Perspective” will be available beginning in 2023. We will announce the topics in advance.

What need to be upheld and inherited in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine? What need to be innovated?
Format Requirements:
(a) Up to 1000 words (title, references, and author signatures are not counted toward total);
No abstract;
(b) Up to three authors;
(c) Up to five references;
(d) ≤2 tables and/or figures.
